Getting REP, One REP Push at a Time

It’s clear that DAO Labs remains committed to building a sustainable, fair, and forward-thinking social mining ecosystemAs we opened the month of May, celebrated in many parts of the world as Labor Month, we also launched a special episode of our weekly DAO Labs show. Joining on the virtual stage was none other than Alexis Trujillo Reinefeld, Head of Community at DAO Labs, with big updates from across the Daoversian Galaxy.

What followed was a deep, transparent, and often humorous dialogue that tackled major community concerns, platform developments, and key ecosystem updates.

Meet the Community Pillar

Alexis gave a quick but insightful summary of his role: managing the entire Daoversian Social Mining ecosystem. His work spans task creation, partner coordination, REP (Reputation) assignments, survey validations, community content supervision, and co-producing the weekly DAO Labs show. It's a role that demands both breadth and depth, and Alexis credited the brilliant staff and the community for making it all possible.

Addressing Community Concerns: ILOs and RWAs

One hot topic: the RWA monthly unlock delays. Alexis clarified that smart contract issues required a pause, but that distributions had resumed as the show aired. He emphasized the company’s responsibility in fixing issues even when they stem from external dependencies.

“We’re not a bounty platform. We say that all the time, on all our platforms. If anyone thinks that will find easy money here, well, yes: There is, too, but not maybe as much as self-entitled people may think.”

“And for REP holding we give it to those who deserve it to become better earners. In regards to the RWA ILO unlock, we experienced some issues with the Smart Contract and paused in order to stay the safest course.”

As for the Autonomys ILO, the results of the pledge pool were a success, with 96.5% approval. The ILO kicks off on May 15, and participants should watch their dashboards for updates.

“This is a demonstration of fine collective work,” Alexis noted, celebrating the shared effort and coordination.

REP: What It Really Means

Alexis tackled another recurring community concern - Reputation (REP) stressing that it’s not just a gateway to the Marketplace. REP reflects consistency, quality, and community engagement. He drew a clear line between content creators' farming points and actual contributors who build trust and influence within the ecosystem.

“Reputation -or REP- is something that you earn by becoming a REAL COMMUNITY MEMBER. If you’re in Social Mining to just make money, sure, you can do it with a nice media account (Twitter, Reddit, etc), talent for content creation and reposting and commenting content. That's the easy part.

For REP, you become a community member by performing quality and engaging content through tasks, recognized by other community members who want to learn from you, or they can help you to improve your output.

I need our people to understand that fact. REP is the strongest variable taken into account when determining miners’ rewards even though they think it's only a safe passage to the Marketplace”, he says.

A teaser? The team is developing a new REP Retainer Task, aimed at helping miners better understand and grow their REP!

What’s Up with the Twitter Module?

If you’ve noticed hiccups with the Twitter Module, you're not alone. Alexis explained that recent changes to Twitter's API and security (under Elon Musk's direction) have required continuous adaptations. DAO Labs is working on Social Mining V2, where users will be able to self-scan their accounts and receive tailored task suggestions.

“Twitter leveled up their security measures to quell bot and spam activity. So did we, but by doing so we must keep up with their pace and build new API integrations on a regular basis.

Now, this happens with more speed than you may think of and we must be on top of it, every single day, to grant a seamless experience to our SocMins.

At this moment we’re working on our Social Mining V2 platforms, making sure that we do a proper job providing security measures for V1 while we provide for V2.”

For now? Focus on tasks. That’s where REP and earnings still come from, and V2 will bring more tools to empower miners.

Polygon HUB: The Technical Explainer

The Polygon HUB has been under maintenance due to a change in their hosting protocols, something DAO Labs wasn’t warned about. Although the issue is technical, Alexis assured everyone it’s being resolved.

“Polygon is a very big project with many instances. Polygon HUB protocols website and hosting protocols were recently changed by Polygon and THAT caused our servers to shut the site because of incompatibility.

It was their doing. They didn't warn us in advance and we're working to solve that situation. The thing is that we’re also working on the Twitter Module V2 adaptations and the ILO Smart Contracts. That’s the reason.

Nonetheless, while we fix the HUB all task activity will be taken care of by DAOVERSE. We already announced 2 tasks with that tagline, although there were some users STILL wondering why we posted those on DAOVERSE”

Meanwhile, DAOVERSE is handling Polygon-related tasks to keep things flowing. March workdrops will be assigned once the HUB reopens.

What About Kava and TC Hubs?

The Kava and TON (TC) Hubs have raised eyebrows due to inactivity. Alexis provided transparency: DAO Labs owns the platforms, not the chains and has faced delays in budget approvals and internal coordination from the client side.

“These organizations are huge and fragmented, not decentralized. They may not be as big as Polygon but they have the same information and decision-making structures.

Whenever the marketing team changes we face different conditions and challenges. For a long time we faced issues in communications, prepaid budget and requested Marketing guidelines.

Despite their Marketing teams still requesting more work to be done, we faced significant delays in freeing the budget by “Accounts Payables”, independently of the marketing team “greenlighting” the funds.

In the current stage we are working on porting these HUBs to V2. This would be a solution to allow clients to operate SocMin Hubs with greater ease. Inject budget, pick tasks and initiate.”

The good news? These hubs are being prepared for V2 deployment, allowing smoother task launches and budget handling. Their fate will be decided by the end of Q2 2025, with more hubs expected to join the ecosystem!

Key Takeaways

  • Smart contract issues on RWAs have been addressed, and distributions have resumed.

  • Autonomy’s ILO launches May 15, backed by near-universal pledge approval.

  • REP is more than just a stat—it's a signal of trust and quality. A REP Retainer Task is launched!

  • Twitter Module V2 is in development to align with recent platform changes.

  • Polygon Hub is making a return soon following key backend fixes.

  • Kava and TC Hubs are under consideration for V2 migration and revitalization.

With that, Alexis wrapped up, panting, but smiling. It’s clear that DAO Labs remains committed to building a sustainable, fair, and forward-thinking social mining ecosystem. And with the community as its core engine, the Daoversian Galaxy continues to grow, one REP push at a time.

Labor Month at DAO Labs isn’t just a celebration of work, it’s a call to purposeful action. And with every REP point earned, the community moves one step closer to a more decentralized, empowered future!
