A Nurse's Path to Becoming a Web3 Leader

A nurse by profession and a Web3 contributor by passion. Quietly consistent and fiercely determined, he’s not only a standout OG in the DAO Labs African Community, he’s also one of the Top 16 participants in SSMM. But this didn’t happen overnight.
Meet Ayobami or Aniyikaye Ayobami Jacob in real life, a story of a calm force, a focused mind, and how belief, community, and grit brought him here.
A Nurse With a Mission
A registered nurse from Jwara State College of Nursing Sciences. In a profession where compassion is core, he found another calling, contributing to the decentralized digital future through Social Mining.
Balancing life in healthcare with life in Web3? He says it’s not easy, but it’s possible.
“Yes, it’s not easy on the other end too. Chinwe can testify to this!” he chuckles, referring to another fellow miner in the medical field.
‘’Before the competition began I set clear goals and objectives and I was determined not just to participate, but to achieve something meaningful and great from it. Every step of the way I reminded myself why I started and what I was aiming for.’’
The Fire That Fuels Him
When asked what’s kept him going, Ayobami had a simple but powerful answer:
‘’Determination which has been the driving force behind my success in this competition, motivation can spark the journey but it's the determination that carries you through the challenges and that is what I believe that set me apart.’’

Before SSMM even began, he set goals, not just to show up, but to achieve something meaningful. That mindset became his anchor through the highs and lows.
One of the biggest tests? Making the Top 32. That moment brought in doubt and pressure. But he reminded himself of his “why” and chose to push forward.
Now, he’s Top 16 and says it best:
“It’s not just a milestone. It’s proof that hard work and perseverance pay off.”
The Power of Community
Ayobami didn’t walk this path alone. He credits much of his growth to the OGs around him, names like Zeal, Taiwo, Chinwe, Godwin Eze, and his mentor Oladips19, who first introduced him to the DAO Labs.
He also highlights a key turning point:
“Mr. Azraiel came in like a superman with guidance and steps. He introduced me to Arolee, one of the backbones of the African Community. From there, I started improving.”
These connections helped Ayobami not only build skills but also build confidence. “No journey is truly solo,” he says and his story proves it.
Why Some People Fade (And Why He’s Still Here)
When asked what sets lasting contributors apart from those who come and go, Ayobami didn’t hold back:
“People run like the MTN network sometimes,” he joked. “But a great miner is always at their best.”
For him, lasting impact comes down to consistency, determination, and willingness to learn. And above all?
“Don’t chase rewards. Chase achievement. Chase honor. The rewards will follow.”

Leading the OG Legacy
Representing the OGs in a competitive space like SSMM is something Ayobami doesn’t take lightly.
“It’s an honor. I hope my journey inspires beginners to stay focused. Life itself is competitive, but with determination and inspiration, greatness will be achieved.”
And he’s already walking proof of that greatness.
His story is a reminder that you don’t need to be the loudest to be the strongest. That growth isn’t only about speed, but about showing up, learning, and building something meaningful over time.
To those just starting? Take notes from Ayobami:
Start with a clear goal. Stay consistent. Believe in yourself and let your journey speak.
